Vanilla Ice Cream with a No-Cook Base

This no-cook ice cream uses cream, milk, sugar and vanilla, churned in an ice cream maker.

What makes this a no-cook ice cream?

The base is cream, milk, sugar and vanilla stirred together cold, with no eggs and no custard to heat. Once the sugar has dissolved, it only needs chilling, churning and freezing, which keeps the method short. The recipe below is a plain vanilla base, and you can flavour it however you like once it has been churned.
