A night cream is a face cream made for the evening part of your skincare routine. Our CBD night cream is a cosmetic for external use. Its ingredient list includes avocado oil, jojoba seed oil and a cannabis sativa ingredient. This guide covers where a night cream fits in an evening routine, how to read the ingredient list, how to introduce a new cream and how day and night formulas differ. It’s product information, not medical advice, and a cosmetic isn’t a treatment for any skin condition.
What is a CBD night cream?
A CBD night cream is a face cream that lists a hemp or cannabis sativa ingredient alongside its other ingredients, and is labelled for evening use. It’s a cosmetic, not a medicine or a food supplement, so it’s chosen and used like any other face cream: by its full formula, its directions and its warnings. The word “night” tells you where the product is meant to sit in your routine. It doesn’t promise a particular result.
Where a night cream goes in your evening routine
Most evening routines work from the thinnest product to the thickest, so a cream usually goes on last.
- Cleanse. Remove make-up and wash your face, then pat it dry.
- Lighter products first. If you use a toner or serum, apply it before the cream and follow its own directions.
- Night cream last. Apply the cream as the pack directs. Use externally only and keep it away from your eyes and mouth.
If you’re adding the cream to products you already use, add one new product at a time. That way you’ll know which product you’re reacting to if anything doesn’t suit you.
Reading a night cream’s ingredient list (INCI)
Cosmetic ingredients are listed by their INCI names, broadly in order of how much of each the product contains. The first ingredient in most creams is “Aqua” (water). Plant oils are listed by their Latin names, with the common name in brackets.
On our night cream’s ingredient list, for example, you’ll see:
- Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil: avocado oil.
- Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil: jojoba seed oil.
- Glycerin, Panthenol and Tocopherol: common cosmetic ingredients (tocopherol is a form of vitamin E).
- Phenoxyethanol and Ethylhexylglycerin: preservatives.
If you avoid particular ingredients, look for them by name in the full list on the product page and on the pack before you buy.
Introducing a new night cream: the patch test
When you try any new cosmetic, a common approach is a patch test. Apply a small amount to a small area of skin first and wait before using it more widely, as the pack or product page advises. A patch test can’t rule out a later reaction, so stop using the cream if irritation occurs. If you’re pregnant, nursing, taking medication or have a medical condition, ask your healthcare practitioner before applying a new cosmetic.
Day cream vs night cream: how the formulas differ
Our CBD day cream and night cream have similar bases. The difference is on the ingredient list: the night cream adds avocado oil, and both list jojoba seed oil. Both are £14.99.

Use the day cream in your morning routine and the night cream in the evening, or choose one, depending on which formula you prefer. Don’t assume either cream provides sun protection unless an SPF is stated on the label.
Storing your night cream
Shake well, store at room temperature and keep the cream away from light and humidity. It’s for adult use only, so keep it out of reach of children.
Choosing a CBD night cream
Compare night creams the way you’d compare any face cream: the full ingredient list, the directions, the warnings and the price. You can see our day cream, night cream, soap bar, hair oil and bath bomb together in the CBD cosmetics range, with the full ingredients on every product page.
