CBD Oil Strength: mg, % & Bottle Size | CBD Armour

To compare CBD oil strength, start with total CBD milligrams and bottle volume. Divide the total mg by the volume in ml to find mg per ml. Two bottles can contain the same total CBD while having different concentrations; a larger bottle at the same concentration contains more CBD overall.

A simple bottle-size comparison

These are illustrative label calculations, not recommended servings or a statement that every format is currently sold.

Total CBD in bottle Bottle volume CBD concentration
500mg 10ml 50mg per ml
1000mg 10ml 100mg per ml
3000mg 30ml 100mg per ml
3000mg 10ml 300mg per ml

The 1000mg/10ml and 3000mg/30ml examples have the same concentration. The larger bottle holds three times the total amount. In contrast, the two 3000mg examples have the same total CBD but different concentrations.

What does a percentage mean?

Check the basis used by the manufacturer. Where a label uses weight per volume, 5% corresponds to 50mg/ml, 10% to 100mg/ml and 30% to 300mg/ml. Do not apply that conversion blindly to a label using a different basis, such as weight per weight. If the percentage and stated mg/ml appear inconsistent, ask the supplier to explain them.

The total amount on the front of a bottle is not necessarily the amount in one serving. Read all the figures together, including the directions and any measuring-device information.

Can I calculate CBD per drop?

Do not assume every dropper produces the same volume. Drop size depends on the equipment and formulation. Use validated information supplied for the product rather than a generic drops-per-ml estimate. A calculation based on an assumed drop size can create false precision.

Which strength should I choose?

Concentration alone cannot establish suitability for an individual. A higher percentage is not proof of better quality or greater benefit. Check the product’s intended use, directions, ingredients and batch information; discuss relevant health or medicine concerns with an appropriate professional.

The FSA’s food safety and health-claims guidance advises a maximum of 10mg CBD per day from food for healthy adults. That is a precautionary consumption limit, not a target or an instruction to increase intake. A label may describe a serving containing more; check the figures carefully. Prescribed medicines have their own clinical instructions.

Compare price without confusing it with strength

Compare bottles using the same units and quantity. Bottle price alone cannot show whether a larger bottle has a lower price for the same CBD amount. Equally, a lower price per mg does not establish quality, suitability or how much to take. Consider the ingredient information and evidence as well as the price.

Before choosing a bottle

Check total mg, bottle volume, mg/ml, the basis of any percentage, directions, ingredients and the matching batch report. If any of those details are missing, ask before buying. Start with the label checklist, lab reports and current CBD oil range.
