Arousal oil or personal lubricant?
An arousal oil and a personal lubricant are not automatically the same product. Before using either, check the exact manufacturer’s intended use and application instructions. A name or ingredient does not establish where a product can be used.
This guide does not treat the presence of CBD as proof of an arousal benefit. Product claims need evidence relevant to the finished formula and the use being described.
Check compatibility before use
Do not assume compatibility with condoms, barriers or toys. Check the product manufacturer’s instructions alongside those for the other item, including the material involved. If that information is missing or conflicting, ask the manufacturer before using the products together.
Read the full ingredients and warnings. Do not assume that a product for external skin use is intended for internal use or for every area of the body. Follow the label and stop using a product if it causes a reaction.
What to ask the seller
- Is this specifically sold as a personal lubricant, an external oil or another product type?
- Where do the instructions say it may be applied?
- What compatibility evidence is supplied for the intended use?
- Does the ingredient information apply to this exact product and variant?
If these questions cannot be answered, a general article cannot fill in the missing product instructions.
