CBD and acne: separate skincare claims from treatment evidence

A cosmetic containing CBD should not be assumed to treat acne. The presence of an ingredient does not establish that a finished cream or oil will improve a medical skin condition.

What a product description can and cannot tell you

An ingredient list can tell you what the manufacturer declares in a formula. It does not, by itself, establish an acne treatment effect. Personal reviews and general ingredient claims are not the same as relevant clinical evidence for the finished product.

Avoid choosing a face oil simply because a search result calls it “best for acne”. Ask what evidence supports that specific claim and whether the product is actually intended for that use.
